Nourish | My favorite quick + easy sipping broth
This simple broth is quick and easy and an instant feel good food. I make a garlic soup occasionally (recipe coming soon!) but it can be a longer process and sometimes you just want something hot to sip on in the cool weather without spending too much time in the kitchen.
So, whether you aren’t feeling your best or you just like broth (like me) this is a simple way to get some nutrients in and soothe your body.
Side note: I’m still on the hunt for the perfect piece of art for that large vintage frame! Still trying to decide on the vibe I want for it and where it should go.
Simple Sipping Broth // serves 3-4
Ingredients:
4 cups organic broth (I use bone or veggie broth. homemade is great, but seriously you can use any kind!)
1 tsp butter or olive oil
2-3 cloves garlic, finely minced
1/2-1 inch ginger, finely minced (I use a microplane for my garlic and ginger for this broth)
pinch of cayenne
fresh lemon
s + p to taste (you can use any of your favorite seasonings to taste)
dried herbs like thyme and oregano (optional)
How:
On medium heat melt butter in a small pot.
Add in garlic and ginger and a pinch of salt. Let sauté a couple minutes, stirring frequently.
Add in broth, spices, herbs and heat. I personally don’t let it boil or simmer too long, just get it nice and hot.
Pour in your favorite mug (or tea cup!), squeeze in some fresh lemon and enjoy!
* Important Note *
This is just the basic recipe. You can add so many things to this/swap out stuff too.
Like, use lime instead of lemon. Add chilis. Or green onion. Change out the fat for coconut oil or ghee. So many options for flavor here!
