Our Home | Courtyard Before + Progress

It’s safe to say the courtyard is our favorite “room” of the house. We love to sit out there for morning tea or in the evening after the kids go to sleep. Mila loves digging in the little garden bed or doing crafts at the table. And because our home is so small the courtyard is also our dinning room (I’ll share our indoor dinning situation soon!) which works well here in Phoenix most of the time with the exception of June-September because um, no. (too. hot. no. thanks.)

I couldn’t really call this a “before and after” post because there is still so much to do. The courtyard has definitely come a long way but still has a long way to go. We gave the concrete floors a little makeover and just worked with what we had for furniture. The only piece of furniture we actually bought for the space was a patio table that can extend and seat up to 10! And yes (if you follow along on IG) we decided to keep “Courtyard Dave” because he just has a good vibe about him, ya know?

We’re currently working on a garden for this space which I’m super excited about. As far as an upcoming project I would love to give that sad brown shed a makeover (it’s so worn and paint chipped galore), and add some accessories to the space.
