Our Home | Urban Gardening Phase One

At our old house we had a large garden bed and a few small garden boxes in our backyard filled with herbs, veggies, and tomatoes. I loved taking Mila outside in the mornings. While I watered and snipped herbs, Mila ate all the cherry tomatoes (no really, we never harvested any because each morning she would eat any that had turned red). I loved having fresh herbs at anytime and was so sad when we moved and didn’t have that garden.

Moving into this little townhouse with erm, no yard, I definitely knew that my backyard garden utopia dreams weren’t coming true, but hey! that doesn’t mean we can’t make the most of this tiny courtyard of ours!

I had one earthbox in my garden set up before and while trying to figure out the layout here, I decided to get another as they fit perfectly just outside of the windows.

So this is phase one. I’m hoping to work on a vertical garden element soon as well either along that fence or up the brick wall (ok maybe both, who knows:)
